Located in Victoria, BC, Butchart Garden is Victoria’s top tourist attraction on the west coast Canada. National Geographic called the garden one of the best botanical gardens in the world. With the garden, there are groups of themed floral displays: Mediterranean Garden, Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, and Italian Garden.
Lake Louis
Banff National Park is one of the top tourist attractions in Canada. Within the park, there is the world-famous Lake Louise and Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. In summer, tourists can canoe on the lake, while in winter it becomes a popular skating rink.
Columbia Icefield
One of the Rockies’ most fascinating sights as you can actually step on the thousand-year icefield and drink the glacier water.
Pro-tip: For tourists traveling from BC, there is a one-hour time zone between British Columbia and Alberta; make sure to add one hour when booking your tours for Columbia Icefield adventure.
Capilano Suspension Bridge
Capilano Suspension Bridge is one of the first tourist attractions in North Vancouver and it has attracted millions of tourists. The footbridge spans a 70m deep river canyon with forest trails. In the fall season, you can take an extra mile to the Capilano Salmon Hatchery to spot the flashing salmon as they try to swim upstream.
Pro-tip: If you are planning to visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge or Grouse Mountain without driving a vehicle, you can take the free shuttle bus from Canada Place.
Stanley Park
Stanley Park is the largest urban park in North American and you can spend the whole day exploring the various attractions in the park. For example, there are Totem Poles, Vancouver Aquarium, Prospect Point, Seawall, Sunset Beaches, and English Bay. If you are able to ride a bicycle, you can simply rent a bicycle at Denman street and cycle around this amazing park. (Rent a bike costs about $8/hour, helmet included)
Canada Place
Canada Place is not only the flagship tourist attraction in Vancouver’s city center but also it is a harbour hub. In the summer season, you may take the cruise ship from Canada Place to Alaska to experience the northern glacier, while in the winter season it features a Christmas market with European-style decorations.
At the end of the pier, there is the Flyover Canada 4D IMAX attraction, a fly-simulator that gives you a Canadian geography lesson.
In walking distance, you can also visit Gastown, a European-style town with the world’s first Steam-Powered Clock.
